JHEAP
Families can rely on the Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program for child care location and resource services to find school-age care near you. JHEAP is available for emotional support and daily life assistance 24/7/365 at 888-978-1262 or online in the BeWell member platform.
Maryland Family Network
The Maryland Family Network’s database includes all Maryland-registered family child care providers and licensed group programs, including public pre-K programs, private kindergartens, school-age programs, summer programs and camps.
The Locate Search tool provides direct access to information about all registered and licensed child care programs throughout Maryland, and shows providers with immediate vacancies or potential future openings. Use the filters to find care that fits your budget, location, and schedule, and search for providers who are multi-lingual, support special needs, and accept financial aid.
Tutoring, e-learning & educational resources
At Johns Hopkins
- Center for Talented Youth: Johns Hopkins CTY is a nonprofit dedicated to identifying and developing the talents of academically advanced pre-college students around the world. In addition to their online offerings, CTY has compiled a list of 100 free at-home learning resources and activities for kids of all ages.
- Johns Hopkins School of Education: as a leader in evidence-based educational policy and practice, the Johns Hopkins School of Education equips educators and communities—locally and globally—with the latest insight into how learning happens.
- Engineering Innovation Pre-College Programs are available for high school students who are ambitious and passionate about math, science, engineering, and/or technology. The JHU tuition remission benefit can be leveraged to provide dependent children an opportunity to participate and engineer their futures. Students tackle engaging projects and work alongside creative and bright peers from around the world. With online courses offered each semester and in-person commuter and residential opportunities in the summer, Engineering Innovation Pre-College Programs award college credit and cover the topics of general engineering, biomedical engineering, sustainable energy, and coding.

Summer camps
- Bright Horizons offers programs and resources to help plan your family’s summer, including Steve & Kate’s Camp. With locations across the country, including Baltimore, Steve & Kate’s Camp offers Hopkins employees a discount of $15 off per day of camp, or $300 off a full season pass for the summer. - Peabody’s Summer Programs: offers a variety of weeklong performing arts programs serving students ages 6 and older; full-time JHU benefits-eligible faculty, staff, and retirees receive tuition remission for themselves and their families.
- CTY Summer Programs: choose from more than 70 in-person summer courses that are all taught by expert instructors. CTY’s on-campus programs allow young scholars to expand their knowledge surrounded by a community of peers who share their love of learning.

College tuition support for dependent children
JHU offers generous tuition benefits – not just for you, but for your family as well. Dependent children of full-time faculty, staff and bargaining unit members may be eligible to receive a tuition grant applied towards the cost of full-time undergraduate studies, or your dependent may be eligible for part-time credit and non-credit courses offered through the continuing education unit of one of JHU’s academic divisions.
