Prosper Wise and 1:1 Consultation with Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA)
To help you make decisions about your financial planning and retirement investments, JHU partners with Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), an independent investment advisor.
- Prosper Wise is a digital platform and one-stop hub for all things financial planning including budgeting, managing debt, creating an emergency fund, saving for goals, helpful habits, paying for school, and more. Through Prosper Wise, you can access educational videos and courses, live and on-demand webinars, news articles, financial calculators and more. - Schedule a consultation to speak to a financial professional from Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) regarding any questions specific to your individual financial needs. Meetings occur in Zoom and last for 15-25 minutes. Discuss various topics including your JHU 403(b) retirement savings plan, debt & budgeting, retirement income projection, general investment questions, employee benefits like HSA and insurance, social security, and Prosper Wise tools. MMA is available to assist Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm EST.

Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program (JHEAP)
JHEAP offers 24/7 free and confidential counseling to all JHU affiliates and their household members. Through JHEAP you have access to 6 free counseling sessions per issue, per year.

Calm App Premium
Calm is a wellness app designed to help manage stress, improve sleep, and cultivate mindfulness. The app includes guided mediations, sleep stories, soundscapes, breathing exercises, and mindful movement. Follow these step-by-step instructions to add up to 5 dependents (ages 16+).
To access the Calm app for free follow these steps:
- Visit go.calm.com/jhu to create your account.
- Sign up with your JH email address or log in to an existing Calm account.
- Validate your work email address.
- Download the Calm app from your mobile phone’s app store or from Calm.com.
- Log in with the email you used to create your account you should now have access to Calm Premium for free.

Fitness Centers and Gyms
On Campus Discounts: Faculty, staff, and bargaining unit members are able to purchase memberships at our on-site fitness centers. The Ralph S. O’Connor Recreation Center is located on the Homewood campus and the Cooley Center on the East Baltimore campus. Contact the center to join.

Naviance: Cancer Navigation, Prevention & Support
Naviance is a free benefit program available to all Johns Hopkins employees. It provides comprehensive educational information and Nurse Navigator support to help all those impacted by cancer — whether personally, as a caregiver, or as a manager. Monthly Virtual Naviance Support Groups
Are you currently undergoing cancer treatment or taking care of a loved one with cancer? You’re invited to attend a monthly Naviance Support Group. Hosted by Nurse Navigator Rose Wolfe, these virtual sessions provide a supportive space to share, learn and receive personalized answers to your cancer-related questions.
For Employees Undergoing Cancer Treatment:
- Support group sessions are held the first Wednesday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. EST. All sessions are virtual. Join via Zoom.
For Caregivers:
- Support group sessions are held the third Wednesday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. EST. All sessions are virtual. Join via Zoom.
Vida Health
For adults (18+) enrolled in a JHU CareFirst health plan, Vida Health offers free, virtual support and resources to help you lose weight, and/or to manage or prevent conditions like prediabetes, diabetes or hypertension.
When you sign up with Vida, you will have access to a care team to help you make realistic plans to meet your goals – and to stick with them. You will be able to schedule 1:1 virtual coaching sessions or contact members of your care team through chat in Vida’s app. Your coach and you will tailor a program, including eating and exercise plans, to help you meet your health goals – and then help you stick with your plan.
Your access includes helpful resources like videos, lessons, recipes, and more, plus easy progress tracking. For seamless goal tracking, you can connect fitness trackers or health devices to Vida.

Any personal information you share through the Vida Health app is confidential and stored securely using encrypted systems. Vida Health complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable privacy laws.
Individual-level health information is not shared with Johns Hopkins University (JHU). JHU receives only aggregated, de-identified reports about overall program participation and general feedback to help evaluate and improve the benefit.
Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers (WW) is a weight management program that provides a structured and supportive approach to weight loss and maintenance.
- The app and digital tools to make it easy to access to recipes, meal planning tools, and a community forum.
- JHU affiliates and retirees have access to WW at a discounted rate of $9.75 per month for Core and $19.11 per month for Premium. Please note this is a taxable benefit.

Webinars and Workshops
Throughout the year, Benefits & Worklife offers scheduled webinars designed to help employees leverage benefits to navigate the demands of work, personal life, and academic pursuits. Supervisors can also request presentations for staff meetings, retreats, or special events.
