In the spring of 2019, we built upon recent efforts to report regularly on the gender, ethnic, and racial composition of faculty and graduate students with JHU’s first Report on Staff Composition (FY17). An update of the Report on Staff Composition (FY19) was published during the summer of 2020. These reports uphold the commitment to transparency and accountability expressed in the Roadmap on Diversity and Inclusion and offer baseline and trend data from which to measure progress.

Measuring our workforce demographics and workplace climate is vital to achieving our shared goal of attracting, retaining, and advancing a diverse workforce at all levels. We continue to work to strengthen the collection of data that paints a clearer picture of our staff workforce and informs JHU leadership about ways in which the university can contribute to the continued development and career progression of staff.
