The Student Health Benefits Plan is administered by Wellfleet and is contracted with Cigna for the medical plan’s provider network of hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers.

Eligibility and Enrollment for Student Health Insurance
Students enrolled in at least one in-person course at the following schools—School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, Krieger, Whiting, SAIS, Peabody, Carey, and School of Education—can access the AHP site and take action between July 1 and September 15.
Note: Online-only students are not eligible for the Student Health Insurance Plan.
- Full-time, degree-seeking students taking at least one in-person course will be automatically enrolled in the student medical insurance plan. They may choose to waive this coverage during the waiver period:
- Fall waiver period: July 1 – September 15
- Spring waiver period (for new spring starts): December 1 – February 10
- Part-time, visiting, non-degree, or certificate students who are enrolled in at least one in-person course are eligible to self-enroll in the student health insurance plan at the start of each academic period.
- Please be aware that a waiver request form must be submitted each academic year regardless of whether your insurance information has changed or not. Waivers submitted after September 15 or February 10 for new Spring students will not be accepted.

Eligibility and Enrollment for Learner Health Insurance
Learners (Postdocs, Residents, and Interns) can access the AHP site and take action (waive coverage or add dependents) between June 1 and July 30. Changes made during this period will be effective as of July 1.
Learners will be automatically enrolled in medical, dental and vision insurance at the individual level.
The annual plan year for learners is July 1 to June 30.
