Performance Management

At JHU, we work to ensure our employees participate in ongoing performance management practices. For managers and supervisors, that means continually communicating and clarifying job responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations, as well as engaging in career planning that optimizes performance and promotes professional and personal development.

Managers and supervisors should engage in these efforts informally throughout the year with those they manage, as well as during these designated meetings: goal-setting and development planning, midyear checkpoint, and annual review. Eventually, all of JHU will use the myPerformance process, housed within SuccessFactors. Regardless of their area’s current performance management practice, all managers and supervisors can use some of the same helpful tools.
