Each of our medical plan providers offers support for smoking and tobacco cessation including free nicotine replacement therapy. If you are not enrolled in one of Johns Hopkins health insurance plans, you still have free smoking and tobacco cessation support through a national network of tobacco cessation quit lines.

Smoking and passive exposure to tobacco smoke are two key risk factors of lung cancers that you can control for yourself and your family. Please take advantage of the tobacco cessation programs below.  You may also be eligible for a free lung cancer screening, based on your smoking history. Nicotine Replacement through Capital Rx

Prescription and over-the-counter nicotine replacement products are available through Capital Rx. You can purchase prescribed medications with a prescription from your doctor, as well as any over the counter medications.

Quit lines are telephone-based tobacco cessation services, available at no cost to US residents in each state, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Quit lines help tobacco users quit through a variety of service offerings including individual counseling, practical information on how to quit, referral to other cessation resources, mailed self-help materials, information on FDA-approved cessation medications, and in some cases, free or discounted cessation medications.
